Review: Sector 9 Sunset Longboard

The sector 9 sunset bamboo longboard is one of the newest editions to the sector 9 line-up. This board is the most high performance style bamboo longboard made by sector 9. The board is fast, smooth, sharp turning, and highly stable. The deck of the bamboo sunset uses a “W” concave with a mild camber which allows strength and still gives the longboard a little bit of flex. The trucks are top mounted on this board which give it the lowest center of gravity of any of the sector longboards. It is 42 inches long and 9.5 inches wide which is perfect for stability at high speeds and while carving down hills. The wheelbase is around 30 inches long which creates very smooth flowing turns. The nose and tail of the board are tapered to allow for large wheels that can get you over any type of riding surface. A low center of gravity board is very useful as it creates so much more balance on the board and also makes speed wobbles more scarce. It also makes sliding a lot easier as you are so much closer to the ground.

If you’re thinking about getting this sector 9 longboard make sure to set it up for ultimate performance. I would get the 10 inch gullwing charger trucks as the deck was designed perfectly so the trucks will sit flat on the top of the board. Either the sector 9 74mm wheels or some orangatang wheels are a good choice for this board as they will grip the ground and allow for great carves at high speeds. The sector 9 platinum bearings are a perfect fit for this bamboo longboard!
